Nutraceutical Profile

ImmunCR Id : ICR6
Chemical Name : Vitamin A
Plant Source : Citrus sinensis
Nutraceutical information : Edible, found in Carrots · Pumpkins · Papaya · Mangoes · Sweet potatoes · Kale · Spinach and broccoli etc.
Mode of administration : ---
Immunomodulatory mechanism : Anti-cancer (Activates of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK)-2 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), Increases Rb mrna, p27, S10 phospho-p27; Inhibits cyclin-dependent kinase-activating kinase (CAK) action on PML–rarα protein and exit G1 phase in cell cycle); activates rxrα, rxrβ, and rxrγ; forms epithelial and mucosal tissues; proliferation and apoptosis of thymocytes; maintain homeostasis of bone marrow; regulate Bcl-2, Fas gene levels; differentiation of CD169+ macrophages (Anti-inflammatory); downregulate IFN-γ, upregulate IL-5
Description : Vitamin A exists as Retinol or retinoic acid, acts as a precursor of retinal necessary for rhodopsin biosynthesis in the cells, important for maintaining health of cells and tissues by regulating cell cycle and cell maturation, it is effective against cancer cell proliferation but elevated levels can result in toxicity.
